Paul Lisicky Reading from LATER
Last week, we kicked off our virtual event series with Paul Lisicky to celebrate his latest book Later: My Life at the Edge of the World with novelist Susan Choi.
In his latest memoir, Paul Lisicky reflects on the time he spent in Provincetown in the 1990s, a haven of inclusivity and art in the midst of the AIDS crisis. Sketching out his search for love and community, Later presents a deeply affecting account of Provincetown in a period of radical and irreversible change. Lisicky writes of the contradiction between the immense tragedy of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the hope of those living to the fullest with tenderness, insight, and emotional clarity. A beautiful writer, this is Paul’s sixth book. He has received fellowships from various organizations, including the NEA and the Guggenheim Foundation, and he currently teaches in the MFA program at Rutgers University. In this clip, Paul is reading from Later.
