We had the pleasure of hosting Catherine Lacey to celebrate her new novel, Pew, with writer Max Porter.

Eerie, taut, and atmospheric, Pew centers on a small, religious town in the American South that is disrupted by the sudden appearance of a mysterious, silent teenager. The town’s inhabitants' apparent goodwill quickly breaks down, transforming into vicious suspicion and exposing the townspeople’s need for categorization at the expense of Pew’s wellbeing. Catherine Lacey’s restrained prose adds a layer of urgency to this beautifully crafted and ambiguous fable of belonging and belief.
